About Me

Hello, I am JP.

I am currently a Lead SQL Server DBA for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) in New York City providing remote SQL Server support for companies in almost all industries and business sectors throughout the United States. On a daily basis, I get to work very closely with the SQL Server DBAs in both the US and India off-shore teams in providing innovative solutions in resolving the current challenges that our customers are experiencing.

I am a Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) on SQL Server 2005, MCITP: Database Administrator 2005. I also have a number of other IT certifications: A+, Network+, Windows XP, and MOS:Access 2003 that were good to have in the late 1990s and very early 2000s to simply qualify for a job in the IT industry. They are good to have if you don’t have a garage or basement for your dot-com start-ups.

My current interests are in SQL Server, the BI stack (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS), Powershell, and Extended Events. I like sharing my experiences on technologies especially on SQL Server. Everyone’s experiences are unique. I always believe that the only way to truly master a skill is to have hands on experience on the topic and being able to share and explain to others and help others understand the topic to solving their challenges in their unique ways.
